Dear DBA Online players.
Wargaming.net is pleased to announce the first DBA Online World Team Cup.
The official launch is May 19, the day when DBA Online was officially released one year ago.
You have an opportunity to serve your country and prove that your country is the best in wargaming.
The National Teams are based on actual modern countries (like in Soccer World Cup).
Some additional arrangements will be needed for those countries which have very big
(such as USA, UK, Germany, Australia, France) or very small number (French Polynesia,
Thailand) of DBAOL players. Small countries will be united into "Joint Teams"
and big counties will be represented by several Teams (USA-1, USA-2, USA-3, or USA
DC, USA California, USA South, etc.). This is what Big/Small nations Team
arrangements phase is needed for.
Recruitment Schedule:
| Primary recruitment |
April 25 (Wednesday) - May 14 (Monday) |
| Big/Small nations Team arrangements |
May 14 (Monday) - May 18 (Friday) |
| Launch |
May 19 (Saturday) |
During the Primary recruitment you must indicate:
- Your country
- State/Province/Region/City
This will help to organize the Teams for big countries.
- If you belong to one of those big or small DBAOL nations, you may indicate any Team preferences.
(if you feel like uniting, say, with French Polynesia or forming USA - West Coast Team)
You can Sign Up by sending an e-mail to morda@dbaol.com
or fill in the Request Form below.

General Cup Features:
- Each team has 5 Positions.
(It may happen that after Primary recruitment ends the Tournament Master will increase the number of Positions up to 6 after analyzing the number of registered players).
- Each position represents a certain period.
- The Chariot period - 3000BC to 500BC
- The Classical period - 500BC to 476AD
- The Early Medieval period - 476AD to 1071AD
- The High Medieval period - 1071AD to 1500AD
- The Far East armies
The exact list of the armies for each period will be published soon.
- Each Team has a Captain who is responsible for his Team's behavior.
He/she communicates with Tournament Master on all the aspects of playing
and solves any problems/questionable situations if they arise.
- Captain assigns his/her Team members for all the Positions for
each round. The Team should select 1 DBAOL army for each position
(i.e. period) and this army will remain until the end of the Tournament.
Here is the example of a Team's structure:
Team: Germany
Captain: "Old King"
Position 1 (Chariot): "Red Imperor", 11. New Kingdom Egyptian
Position 2 (Classic): "The Lancer", 36. Alexandrian Macedonian
Position 3 (E. Medieval): "Old King", 87. Early Bulgar
Position 4 (H. Medieval): "The warrior", 179. Wars of the Roses English
Position 5 (Far East): "Pale Shadow (3)", 127a. Early Samurai
This structure should remain unchanged until the end of the Tournament.
But in some exceptional cases (for example, someone drops out) the Captain may negotiate with the
Tournament Master and make substitutions.
So, the match Germany vs Argentina would look like this (EXAMPLE):

Depending on the number of Teams organized, there will be 1 or 2 groups where all
the teams will play each other (Round Robin).
Then 4 winners will proceed to semi finals.
More detailed rules will be published after Primary recruitment phase ends, because a
lot will depend on the number of participating Teams.
Wargaming.net's staff will do its best to make this Team Championship fair and interesting
so that it determines the strongest DBAOL nation (for year 2001).
The experience of individual World Cup tells us that additional measures and methods should
be undertaken for speeding the process up. We may think of some special rules
restricting the length of each battle.
To take part in this World Team Cup you have to be (either of the following):
- DBAOL Club Member for at least the following 2-3 months
- Have enough battles purchased by 10-game blocks. (We believe there's gonna be no less than 30-40 battles fought by each team member)
- Purchase Special $19.95 Team World Cup Pass for the Trial Players. It will allow you to join your National Team and defend your country's colors in this competition.
Please, note that this is not a Tournament where you fight for your personal rankings.
This is a type of Ancient & Medieval World War where you defend the colors of your Nation.
Your country will never forgive you if you betray it by not joining the national Team.
As for the prize...
Before the official Launch we will determine what kind of prize it will be for the winning Team.
However, please, make sure you understand this: you are going to fight for the
GLORY for your nation, not prizes!
