Book Description
The depth and scope of the book will precisely map to the CIW objectives stated in the CIW Foundations credential to make certain that certification objectives map to book content which in turn maps to test questions on the certification exam. This ensures a high level of reliability and validity of the Foundations book in preparing candidates to pass the CIW Foundations examination.

ABOUT THE CD-ROM
Contains a value-packed CD-ROM with hundreds of test questions and answers to help certification candidates practice and perfect their exam skills. Test questions provided by Boson Software, a company that specializes in creating technical practice exams. Boson comes highly recommended by CertifiedExpress.com.

ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY
Demand for this book is now measurable; as CIW has now reached a critical mass of over 25,000 CIW trained professionals including Webmasters, developers, designers, e-commerce and security engineers. The total number of CIW certifications earned has grown by 25 percent in the last three months, and by 150 percent since September 2000.
CIW's relevance and positioning in the IT market is becoming increasingly important. This at a time when the "skills gap" between the demand and supply of IT professionals continues to grow as Internet technology is more widely applied in our society and throughout business.
The cost of all CIW exams is $125.
The Foundations certification tests the common core of Internet skills. It is vendor-neutral, meaning it does not test skills and knowledge that is product, system, or platform specific. Further, it is a "generalist" certification, which provides the minimum skills necessary for those wanting to pursue more advanced specialized training and certification. Nearly every major computer training company worldwide, including New Horizons and Executrain, is now offering CIW certification training and testing. According to Certification Magazine, " So recognized is the Foundations exam that numerous vendors that once offered similar exams have begun to phase theirs out and endorse this exam." These vendors include Intel and Novell.

ABOUT THE AUDIENCE
CIW candidates-those preparing for the Foundations exam by self-study or by supplementing materials such as classroom training, e-learning, or CBT.
OEM candidates-those preparing for vendor-specific e-business certifications from IBM (ePC), Novell (CIP), and Intel (Certified e-business Solutions Specialist) can benefit from this book as these OEMs have endorsed CIW as part of their core requirements.
Trade Association members-those preparing for the CompTiA i-Net+ certification will benefit from this book as Foundations is very similar to i-Net+. CIW endorses i-Net+. Two other trade associations (IWA and AIP) have endorsed the CIW credential and have thousands of members that provide an audience.
Collegiate e-business students-as part of a propriety collegiate internal certification or the CIW credential.
